Tai Chi Chuan - Snake creeps down

The Yang's Tai Chi Chuan form taught at

was abstracted by the late Grandmaster Liu Yun Chiao.

Yang's Tai Chi Chuan comes to us through Song Wei-Yi a master of Wu Dong Sword style. He taught General Xiang Xong Wu . General Xiang was one of the most famous disciples of Li Su Wen.

General Xiang taught Grandmaster Liu Yun Chiao this old version of Yang's style Tai Chi Chuan as well as sword and broadsword techniques. Grandmaster Liu later modified this Yang's style into the 32 movement form we practice today. 

Sequence as follows:

  1. Open Tai Chi
  2. Hold the Ball on the Left and Right
  3. Part the Wild Horses Mane
  4. Hold the Ball on the Left then Press Palms to the Right
  5. Pull Down, Press Wrists, Wipe, and Uproot
  6. Gaze Left to Grasp and Move into Horizontal Single Whip (Dan Bian)
  7. Lift Hands and Play the Fiddle on the Right
  8. Block over Left Knee, White Crane Spreads its Wings
  9. Block Left, Block Right, Step, Brush Knee and Palm Strike
  10. Grab Opponent, Curl Right Fist Up, Parry and Punch
  11. Wipe and Push Down
  12. Return Tiger to the Mountain
  13. Fair Lady Weaves Shuttle Right, and Left
  14. Needle to the Sea Bottom
  15. Wipe and Fan Back
  16. Turn Around and Strike
  17. Wipe and Kick Left
  18. Turn Right and Heel Kick
  19. Block and Strike Ears
  20. Pounce Like a Tiger
  21. Pull Down and Punch the Tiger Left
  22. Wave Hands Like Clouds
  23. Block Left, White Snake Spits Out Tongue
  24. Punch Fist under Elbow
  25. Repulse the Monkey and Strike Head
  26. Push Down and Snake Sticks Out Tongue
  27. Form Wu Fist and Snake Creeps Down
  28. Punch Fist under Elbow
  29. Block Left and Block Right and form Striding Arc Posture
  30. Turn Around with Lotus Kick
  31. Punch the Tiger Left
  32. Close Tai Chi
