Our Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide a system of instruction that will develop each student's physical and mental well being, utilizing Taijiquan and Traditional Chinese Martial Arts techniques and training involving physical exercise, breathing, and meditation. Our goal is to provide instruction to build discipline, self-respect, and awareness of ourselves, along with respect for others. Our teaching is presented with a positive attitude that stresses flexibility, balance, and self-defense, as well as coordination of the mind and body.

Current News and Events at the Center


  • WORLD TAIJI & QIGONG DAY: On Saturday, April 27th, students from the Jewish Community Center (JCC), the Center for Body-Mind Harmony, the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium, Summa Health Wellness Center, and SAGE from Hudson will be gathering at the JCC to celebrate World Taiji and Qigong Day.
  • STUDENTS COMPETE AT THE GREAT LAKES TOURNAMENT: Several students from the Center competed on Saturday, April 20th at the Great Lakes Tournament in Maple Heights. Students competed in Taiji, Push Hands, and Open Hands Forms. Check out our Photo Gallery for pictures of some of the competitors.
  • TAIJIQUAN: Classes continue at the Natatorium in Cuyahoga Falls. We are also holding in-person classes for the NAT Advanced students at the Center on Tuesdays, 5:30PM to 6:30PM, and for the NAT Beginner students on Thursdays, 5:30PM to 6:30PM.  Classes at the Natatorium are held on Wednesday evenings. The Advanced class runs from 4:45 to 5:45 PM and the Beginner class runs from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Please contact the Center if you would like additional information about these classes.
  • AKRON BEACON JOURNAL ARTICLE: Shifu Harris and the Center were featured in an article in the Akron Beacon Journal. Click on this Center link to view the article.
  • ISSHINRYU KARATE: Melissa Argilan continues to offer Isshinryu Karate at the Center. This is a separate program, and not part of Body-Mind Harmony's curriculum. Her classes continue to grow so please contact Melissa at 330-752-3528 for more information and checkout the school's website:
